Journal of Bhartiya Hindi Research Review
The Journal of Bhartiya Hindi Research Review is committed to upholding the highest standards of scholarly integrity and excellence. As part of this commitment, we outline the following duties and responsibilities for our peer reviewers:
1. Contribution to Editorial Decisions:
Peer review plays a crucial role in assisting editors in making informed editorial decisions. Reviewers provide valuable feedback that can help authors enhance their manuscripts, thereby strengthening the quality of published research. We believe that all scholars who wish to contribute to the academic community should participate in the peer review process as part of their scholarly obligations.
2. Promptness:
Reviewers are expected to respond promptly to invitations to review manuscripts. If a reviewer feels unqualified to assess the research presented or anticipates delays in providing feedback, they should notify the editors immediately and decline the invitation. This allows the editorial team to seek alternative reviewers in a timely manner.
3. Confidentiality:
All manuscripts received for review are confidential documents. Reviewers must treat them as such and refrain from sharing, discussing, or showing them to others unless explicitly authorized by the Editor-in-Chief under exceptional circumstances. This confidentiality is paramount to maintaining the integrity of the review process.
4. Standards of Objectivity:
Reviews must be conducted with an objective perspective. Reviewers are encouraged to provide clear and constructive observations supported by strong arguments, which can aid authors in refining their manuscripts. Personal criticisms of authors are inappropriate and undermine the collaborative nature of the review process.
5. Acknowledgment of Sources:
Reviewers should identify any relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors. Any observations, derivations, or arguments previously reported should be appropriately cited. Additionally, reviewers should inform the editors of any substantial similarities or overlaps between the manuscript under consideration and any other works they are aware of, whether published or unpublished.
6. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest:
Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that may arise from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors, institutions, or companies related to the manuscript. If a conflict exists, reviewers should promptly notify the editors and decline the invitation to review, allowing for the selection of alternative reviewers.
Unpublished materials disclosed in submitted manuscripts must not be used in a reviewer’s research without the express written consent of the authors. Reviewers should keep privileged information or ideas obtained through the peer review process confidential and refrain from using them for personal gain.
By adhering to these guidelines, reviewers contribute to maintaining the integrity and quality of the Journal of Bhartiya Hindi Research Review, fostering a culture of respect and collaboration within the academic community.
